I had the transmission replaced less than 6 months ago. Just recently it failed again. The mechanic which did the initial work said the fluid was low because of the hoses leaking. He replaced them and still it does not work. He now says it may be a solenoid. If its not a solenoid does the transmission need to be replaced again. If so, am I responsible or should he be responsible.

The only way he is responsible is if there was a warranty. As far as if it needs replaced, that decision needs to be made after he determines what is wrong with it.

Since he did the work, see if you can talk him into paying at least part of the repair bill.
