My vehicles power goes out when I try to turn it. What would cause this to happen?

Thank you for you prompt reply. I don't think it's the battery, as I took it to AutoZone and they verified that it was still good. I also hooked it up to another car, and it works just fine. There are various clicking noices coming from under the hood when we try to start the car, but no cranking. Any ideas?

Another note:
I tinkered with the vehicles battery cables (cleaned up any battery sludge, and pushed the connections at all it's inputs to ensure they were connected properly). Before doing this, my car's power would go completely dead when I would try to start it. I'd have to unplug and then replug the battery just to be able to lock the car. After the aforementioned tinkering, the car keeps it's power now even after i attempt to turn it on. Still no cranking, but at least i don't have to disconnect-reconnect the battery just to be able to lock the doors.
