I have a lot of rust accumulated on my rotors causing a screeching noise every time I press on the brakes. I have the brakes and sensor checked and all in good condition (80% left) and the mechanic says it is due to rust. How do I remove it?
Thanks

First, I don't think the rust is causing the noise. Most times when you hear a squeal, it is caused by either a very hard brake pad or there is a glaze on the rotor. In this case, I would recommend that you have the rotors cut (Just a minimum amount) to remove the glaze. I would also sand the brake pads to remove any glaze that may have built up on them.

Let me know if that helps. Keep in mind, the portion of the rotor that the brake pads touch will NOT have rust on them unless there is a problem with the brake caliper.
