I wrote a while back about acceleration issues with this car. While driving the car it starts jerking motions like the car is not getting fuel. The dealership finally diagnosed the problem being bad throttle sensor and said I need to replace the throttle body and harness? To the tune of about 2,000. Since I got the car back (6 months or so ago) it has been fine. Every time I have taken it to the shop for the problem, it is fine for 6 months to a year and starts messing up again. The other day I was on the interstate I put on the cruise control and it started the jerking again really bad. I immediately turned off the cruise control and this is the first time I noticed the "problem" occurring as soon as I turn on the cruise. Could this have anything to do with the issue? The dealership of course wants to replace it. There are 2 other volvo specialty shops here in town and the one I use said it has to be replaced (not just cleaned) and the other one offered to clean it and see if that was the issue. I really can't afford 2,000 to replace it and I am putting about 1,000 a year into repairs. Any advice? Alternative solutions? The drive axle is also making really loud noises so I am about to have to replace that too. I'm really considering selling it because it is costing me an arm and a leg to keep it. Thanks!
