My sunroof is stuck open. When I go to close it, it closes about 2 inches then opens fully again. No grinding noises just sounds like the sunroof is giving up. When I look at it from underneath it looks like one side is closing faster than the other. So I try help guiding it so it closes evenly. Same thing happens. Closes about 2 inches then opens again. Last time this happened I took the truck for a joyride and it got stuck open. My mom woke up in the morning, obviously knew I took the truck out but she closed it just fine. It had me stumped that a matter of time "fixed" the problem. Any troubleshooting or even a manual way to close it? All the fuses are okay by the way.

What happens is the motor goes out and pulls too many amps causing the sun roof to think something is stuck in it, first check and lube the rails and if that does not help replace the motor here are diagrams to help you with the repair. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

I ran into the same problem with my sunroof yesterday. I would push the close button, it would close about 2 inches, stop, then roll back to open. Finally had to push the button with one hand and force the window closed with the other. Have been researching possible fixes from disconnecting the battery to resetting it by holding the tilt button for 15 secs, to checking the fuse.
What was your end result?
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Both times that this has happened, a matter of time just fixed the problem. Waited tI'll morning and it just closed then I think the moisture help lube it. I replaced the motor after and have not had the problem since cost me $176.00
