Tail gate will not open

Got the remote to program after a car wash with a 2006 Subaru Tribeca. However, still can't get rear gate to open. Is there a way to open rear gate manually?Previous email mentioned that car got wash and wouldn't use the remote. Now, we've got the remotes to work (doors) but still can't get the rear gate to open. Is there a way to manually open?

I know that there was a recall on the rear gate supports for 2006 models. If the rear gate opens by unlatching the lock mechanism and then the hydraulic supports are suppose to openit. It probably won't. You might try pushing on the rear gate while pushing the rear gate button on the remote to see if this is the case. If so, you might be able to get free replacements depending upon the relationship with your dealer as it has been far too long too replace them n most cases.
If it does not open then the latch is not unlocking and I do not have any information in the manual I use to reset it or open it. Sometimes manufacturers withold information from being published as it is proprietary.
