Blend/temp door

2006 PONTIAC TORRENT

I have a temp door issue. fan blows cold, no fluid loss, no leakage, so I assume it is the blend door. Is there a way to just prop this door open till winter is over and I can afford to have it fixed?

It is located under the dash near the heater core. You can try removing the screws that hold it on the HVAC box and rotating it until the door is in the desired position, then secure it. I have attached a diagram that shows the location of the blend door actuator and a guide that shows how to replace one to help you along. There is also a link below to a video..
