I did a brake job on a 2006 Pontiac Torrent - all new shoes, drums, springs, grease, everything - but I am getting a clicking / thumping noise while braking. It occurs primarily at lower speeds (40/50 mph to 0), it scales with speed, and occurs when the hand brake is engaged as well. I can't figure it out! Attached image is drum brake BEFORE the brake job. The rear brakes were squealing, that is why I did the brake job.

Check for rust pieces caught in drum/disc also check axles it may be them making noise. Then do a cope of hard brake applications an dseei f it goes away. I am assuming wheels were put on tight like lug nuts.

Wheels are on tight, maybe too tight? Springs are definitely back in the right place, I am certain. I can check for rust caught in drum/shoe surface, but they are all new parts and super clean! Ill do a couple hard brakes, I guess, but other than that. Is there anything else that could cause it?
