when i shift from park to reverse, i can hear the car idle change but the car does not move. The same when I put it in nutral. The car shifts and runs fine in drive. Fluid level for trany was fine and clean from any metal shavings.

In neutral, the vehicle should not move. Problem could be due to a faulty solenoid or transmission internals and you would need to diagnose by testing the related components.

Start by checking for trouble codes.
