2006 Jeep Wrangler 4WD light repair

I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler that is an automatic & even when it is in 2WD the 4WD light still stays on. How do I fix this?

Did the best I could do

Maybe this is the switch you have--causing you problems--I do not know its location, I would assume on the TRANSFER CASE.I would think unplugging it would kill the light, just to verify this is the switch to be examined or replaced.

One more time, ARE YOU SURE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF 4X4. Not just what the selector says?
