I had a p2106 DTC on my 2006 Hyundai Azera after accelerating suddenly. No other apparent issues. I cleaned the throttle body and after closing everything back up, reset the ECU by disconnecting the ground terminal from batt and removing the #22 fuse for the ECU for 20 min. After that I restarted the car. Check engine light is still on and the car now appears to be in limp mode. It will on accelerate in Drive and only up to around 10mph. I don't have the ability to check for another DTC now. What can I do to reset the system or get it out of limp mode so I can safely drive it to a shop?

The DTC P2106 is a code indicating that the vehicle is in limp home mode. Theres usually an underlying problem and is usually accompanied with specific symptoms or other DTCs. I would strongly try to get the vehicle scanned again for codes to see if you have any other codes. There is a couple TSBs pertaining to this code. The TSB numbers are 10-EE-002 and 10-FL-001. The 10-FL-001 is a computer update performed by the dealerships that may fix your problem depending on the symptoms and if there are other codes.

I forgot one of the TSBs 10-FL-010. But again, this all depends on the symptoms and if there are other codes. This particular TSB, if the conditions are met, would replaced your TPS sensor and perform an ECM update. The first TSB that I mentioned above would be replacing your pedal accelerator assembly if the conditions are met. Let me know what you find.
