Why are you trying to remove it? If it is to replace it be aware that the Body Computer is built into it to prevent you from not getting it repaired by the very expensive authorized repair centers. If you install an aftermarket radio you will not have cruise control or power windows. Got'cha.

If you are just trying to have it repaired, GM wants all your money for that too. Might as well let the dealer remove it because they are going to have to program it when it is shipped back. It's business practices like these that makes GM so profitable.
