How do I install a 2006 Chev Uplander battery with a 3.5L engine. There is a bar that is bolted down over the battery, do I need to remove that first?

Yes, you need to unbolt the support bar that is covering the battery. After that is removed, then there is a battery hold down which keeps the battery from moving in the battery tray. Remove one of the bolts from the bar and losten the other so you can just move it out of the way without taking it off completely. Also, before doing anything, make sure to disconnect the neg battery terminal first and then the positive. When reinstalling a new battery, connect the new one as the last step starting with the positive terminal and then the neg.
