If an ignition switch was bad would the engine crank on my dads 2006 Chevy SSR. My mom seems to think that the ignition switch. I was like you don't loose 50hp off of an ignition switch. Am I right. My dad agrees with her. I was like no. The truck runs then if you turn it off and and then turn it back on it won't start the engine cranks but does not start. I replaced the throttle body the power train relay and also the ECM. The ignition switch was changed in 2006 or 2007. Thanks.
Hey one more question if a fuel pump goes bad will it throw a code. I have a feeling the fuel pump went bad and and when it doesn't get the proper fuel flow it shuts off. When you drive it it will die with the engine on. You can push the gas pedal and nothing happens. Also if you turn it off you have to wait 3 hours before it will start. That is what makes me believe that it is the fuel pump.

You need to check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure tester to rule out the fuel pump, it doesn't pop the CEL
