My car has a temp gauge and a digital readout for odometer and other functions. Temp gauge was working fine then I noticed my digital display read engine hot A/C off. Temp gauge was all the way a cold and engine didn't feel hot. I squeezed the coolant line and it was warm to the touch but squishy (no excessive pressure build up). Any advice? I'm thinking maybe my temp sensor went out.

Hello,

It sounds like you might have a faulty sensor.
As you mentioned the engine was not hot but the message center says engine hot can mean there is a fault with the sensor.
It also might be a good idea to make sure you do not have air in the cooling system.
Remember to work on the engine when it is cool.

I have attached the coolant temperature sensor replacement as well as wiring diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
