2005 Volvo S40 ABS pump

Can you get a part number of the abs pump without having to take it out? And is the abs pump under the battery tray? I cant seem to be able to fined it. When I start my car it gose through its checks and I can hear a noise coming from under the bonnet when I start to drive it but after about one hundred yards it gose away but on the dash it says my abs needs serviced do you think the noise will be the abs pump? Asked local garage what he thought he thinks it could be but recons it will cost about 600 pounds for a new pump. What you think

The abs pump is about 900 dollars. There is only one option so you should be able to get it from a dealer or maybe a used one.

As far as the failure, what is the code in the system?
