I get an irritating black smoke from my exhaust and my mechanic checked and found that there is oil getting into the turbo charger which gets burnt and releases that smoke and also, engine oil always get short even if recently filled to the brim. Is the turbo charger the problem?

thanks

You May have a main turbo seal failure, this should be checked out by a turbo accredited workshop, most mechanics do not carry the specialist equipment to do this work.

Is it ok to change the whole unit? I mean, the turbo charger itself. If so where can I get a genuine one to buy and if not can I replace the main seal for it to work perfectly? Where do I get to buy the seal as well. Thanks

Turbos should only be repaired by a turbine equipped repair workshop, it must be balanced and if this is not done correctly it will destroy itself rather quickly.
