Does this engine have a timing belt or timing chain? If it has a belt how can I tell if it has been changed and how often should it be changed ?.................................................................................................................................

If its the four cylinder engine its a timing chain.

This is an L300 Louie....

It has a belt and the factory recommended interval to replace it is 100K miles.

I guess he's confused about what he has. I don't see a 4 cylinder option for the L300

Starting in 2004 the L300 had a v6 or a 4cyl lol.It says 2.2 so its possible.

You got me there wrenchtech 2004 and 2005 were strange years for the L models in 2004 they had the L300.1 which had the 4cyl and the L300.2 and L300.3 which had the V6.Then 2005 they had limted production and only offered the L300.2 with the V6.Got a lot going on with the holidays and other things thanks for the assist. Thats why I thru in the if you have q 4cyl its a chain.You have a blessed Christmas and safe and happy new years for you and loved ones.
