For the past two weeks my battery has been dying but do to not getting paid till every two weeks I have not been able to purchase a new battery, long story short I went to jump my car and the battery suddenly sparked my lights shined on when they were shut off and smoke started coming out of my radio and cd player. Is it possible to just buy a new battery or because of the smoke do I have to get the wiring checked?

Did you cross the polarity of the battery when trying to jump start it?

Thats what I think I might have done on accident, my co worker was jumping my car and the battery looked diffrent plus it was dark, So I have a feeling I switched the red and black.

Okay. Chances are there has been some damage to different electrical items. You need to start by checking to see if there are any MAIN fuses that are blown under the hood. If there are, replace them and then you can start checking to see if anything was damaged. However, if you saw smoke, something happened. Keep in mind, you may have damaged the PCM. Let me know if you get it running.
