Nissan Sentra 05...used yesterday (Sat.)...closed car...pressed lock on key (lock operner/closer may not be working as it should) but key had been removed from ignition and car had been turned off. Today (Sun.) I unlocked door with key...and found that motor had been turned on... no key in ignitiion. I did turnn the car motor off... and tried several times to lock and unlock... and the car did not start by itself. Was this a freakish thing due to cold? Any idea? Just tried it again...and motoro did not turn on by itself. Was it a freak thing?

i am not sure if i understand your question but i will try to clear few things
if the engine was running with out a key ,i would suspect a remote starter system was activated (some do when it get very cold or very hot )
if not starting for you but have power like lights and horn and so on engine will not crank check if security system was activated
if no battery power and no lights get a jump and have the battery checked or replaced
