Good day, is their any possible way for me toe "fine tune" my 2005 land rover discovery2 TD5 to have more power without paying a substantial amount of money. Ijust want it to pull away a bit quicker than what it does. Is their anyway to minimize the turbos lag or get beter output. Will it possibly work if I custom make something that will give the turbo a boost through a mechanism that will build up preasure and then with pull away it will produce better and quicker output. If that will not work do you have any ideas. This boost will also help when I am stuck somewhere and need a extra boost. Any suggestions?

People who are new to turbo diesels often ask this question, unfortunately the answer is no! There is no simple or cheap quick fix, the problem is the turbo lag you experience, the turbo needs to spool up to increase induction pressure, as this is driven by exhaust gasses there is no way to reduce the lag, altering waste gate settings is not recommended as over boosting will increase power but will over stress engine components and you will have an engine failure sooner or later, what you have is just a what you get with turbo diesels, I have one my self and I do not really find it a problem at all, I just drive to conditions, and if you put the boot in it will take off with min lag, the other draw back for you is that you have an Auto, mine is manual and that make a big difference as well.
