Hello,

The code:
P0497: EVAP System Low Purge Flow

This code can get trigged by a faulty EVAP purge valve. If the EVAP system is not releasing excess pressure as its designed to it will produce a trouble code.
This can be as simple as replacing the purge valve. But it can also be restriction in the tubing or other factors that impacting the purge for the valve.

I have attached the diagnostics procedure for this code. Follow those step by step and that will narrow down the possible causes and will help you find the exact reason.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you,.

Hello there SQM, hopefully you see this message. First thanks for posting the detailed instructions for troubleshooting P0497: EVAP System Low Purge Flow.

My question is, a follow-up to your solution post. For troubleshooting steps where it requires you to measure voltage, or jump PCM/ECM ports; Do you do that with the harness connected to the ECM or do you pull that specific plug from the ECM first and then do the required action?

You should remove the connectors before testing. Here is more information on the code.

The engine code P0497 in a 2005 Honda Civic refers to a fault in the evaporative emission (EVAP) system, specifically the low purge flow. This code indicates that there is an issue with the purge valve or the system's operation.
