problems shifting on occasion

i just got a 2005 automatic transmission ford mustang V6, the car's gear is a bit stiff when changing from parking to anything, is that normal, and if when i change to drive or reverse, sometimes it doesn't change directly ,and takes a while to change , but that rarely happens, however that only happened like 4 times. i hope this is helpful, thank you :)

Okay, if the shifter is hard to shift, check and lubericate the linkage to the transmission. If is moves normal but doesn't engage, make sure the linkage is tight. If it is, you may have seals drying out in the valve body of the transmission. If that is the case, find a good transmission additive for seals to see if that will soften them and help the problem.
