Take off the boot around the handbrake lever, you will see the threaded end of the handbrake cable with a 6 mm nut, use a 10 spanner to loosen the nut all way to the top of the thread but do not remove the nut. Once this has been done it should be adjusted on the rear adjusters. Thankfully it is self-adjusting, just drive the car a few times backwards and forwards press the brake pedal firmly when you stop.
After that adjust handbrake cable with handbrake lever down, turn nut until only a bit of free play remains. Handbrake should give four to five clicks.
If handbrake still pulls very high up, check the rear shoes and drums to make sure they are within their wear limits.
