Hello there,

My car recently started vibrating heavily when I start it after parking for a while. The vibration is so heavy when I engage the Drive or Reverse gear that even the rear exhaust knocks on the body. The vibration seems to stop once the engine has warmed up (after temperature rises to normal running engine level). The car drives great once its warm but I face the same problem once the engine cools.

Diagnostics tests have not revealed any problem, we have tried to change various engine mountings, replaced spark plugs and have also checked the air conditioning system to eliminate a cooling fan problem.

I hope you can be in position to help point out where this problem could be.

Thank you

You mentioned you had a cooling fan problem? Have you overheated the vehicle?

Dear Dr. Loot,
No the car is not over heating. There is also no problem detected with the cooling fan.

I would be glad to know what to check or replace.

Thanks
James

Sorry for the misunderstanding James, let's start over. You said that you ran diagnostic codes? There is no check engine light on? And you did not download any codes?

Dear Dr. Loot,
That is right. My mechanic run diagnostic tests and they did not reveal any problem. Also there is no check engine sign on the dashboard.

Thank you

My experience has always been when there is no codes it is a fuel related problem, like a plugged fuel filter, improper fuel pressure due to a weak pump or a respected fuel filter. Have you changed the fuel filter? And has your mechanic checked the fuel pressure?
