Car won't start. Autozone said that it was bad gas and we put Gumout in tank. It started and we drove car a few times and still acted strange. Engine made a ping sound and it revved up when in park. Check engine light came on when I came home. Today it won't start again. Could it be the fuel filter or fuel pump that has been clogged with the bad gas? Thanks

That pinging noise you hear that from pre combustion this can be from a lean running condition that is fuel related such as not enough fuel getting in the combustion chamber, from fuel filter to fuel pump to a restricted fuel line, The engine can also ping from overheating due to the cooling system being faulty ,or timing being advance, Can you give the code?
