I have a 2004 SAAB 9-3 2.0T my question is when I start the car and drive off if I accelerate to much the turbo gauge goes into the red zone and the car starts to jerk like if wants to shut down. I am constantly watching the gauge so the turbo does not go in the red zone. Do you have any advice towards what can be the problem?

Okay. Is the check engine light coming on? Have you checked to see if there is anything blocking the air intake or the intake manifold? Have you checked the EGR to see if anything is overly carboned in the intake?

If everything checks out okay, then I have to ask if any vacuum hoses have been rerouted or possibly put on wrong. If not, then over boost is usually caused by the vanes in the turbo itself sticking.

The only thing the diagnostic machine said was that the knock sensor was damaged. I went to the car dear but they never heard of a knock sensor.

It has a knock sensor. It's located on the right side of the engine block. See attached pic.

The knock sensor's job is to adjust ignition timing to a point of most efficiency. Could it be an issue, if it's throwing the timing way off.

If you can get me the code they found, it would be helpful.
