My 2004 Pontiac Sunfire all of a sudden is having an issue with the gauges, the speedometer and gas gauge and RPM gauge are all stuck in one place and do not move...what could be the problem and is it a costly fix?

First check the fuse. If it's good, you'll have to check all the wiring/connectors in the circuit controlling the gauges. (from fuse box to IP) If they're good, then the IP itself may be bad. Sometimes the circuit boards were defective coming from the factor, sometimes a resistor will blow. It's possible to repair them, but you'd be better off locating one at a junk yard and swapping it out.
