My 04 grand am is beginning to make a loud noise and wont let me increase my speed it feels as if something is blocking it

Does the speedometer wOrk? Is the tranny shifting gears? Use a gage and check fuel pressure. Also, check for applicable codes. If you check codes yourself, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader.
