Engine slowly idles to a stall

I have a 2004 Nissan Titan XE Crew Cab. When I start the engine it will idle down and slowly die within a few seconds unless I hit the gas for a couple seconds. Once I hit the gas, it idles normal and there are no further problems. Would this be an issue with the idle air control valve? My thought is no since there aren't any other issues with the idle other than when I crank it?

Clean the throttle plate with choke cleaner on both sides as well as iac. See if that helps.

Thanks hmac300.

May be a stupid question, but would a induction service accomplish the same thing as well as run the engine a little more efficently?

A full fuel system clean wont hurt, with the miles on your car it may be better to get the injectors serviced off car, this way they can see the spray patterns and measure fuel flow through each injector, this way they can be replaced if they do not meet specs, on car cleans but it is a hit and miss regards correct operation.
