Is it possible that the use of unsuitable engine oil can cause oil leakage?

My car is a nissan frontier with diesel turbo engine. Usually I fill the engine with W15-40 type of oil but yesterday I filled it with SAE-40 monograde engine oil instead. Now I notice there is a leakage of oil and is dripping with about one or two drops per minute. I have tightened the oil filter housing but the leakage does not stop.
