When I start my car the ignition gets stuck in the start position rendering the stereo, electric windows, windscreen wipers and radio useless also abs orange light stays on is this an issue with the barrel and need replacing or something else and if so is this easy to replace for someone with basic mechanic knowledge?

If it is stuck in the start position, the problem would be bad key cylinder. If it goes back to run with those symptoms, the ignition switch behind the lock is bad.

Basically this is a remove and install job but iif the lock requires treplacement, you would need to punch or drill out the safety locking bolts.
