There's two of them. One is in the transmission and one is behind the wheel bearing. Both require removal of the half shaft. That is harder to do on Mazdas than on most domestic models. Just removing the half shaft typically takes about a half hour labor on the Chrysler and GM products I'm familiar with. Add another half hour to remove and replace a seal, and that would be around $100.00 labor, but when you place more emphasis on doing quality work than on speed, it will take longer than an hour.
Japanese imports are going to take longer, and European imports will usually take longer yet.
