I was driving my Jeep a few weeks ago and it started bucking like it was missing real bad. Check engine light came on and I got a P0202 and P0203 took it to Pep boys and they replace injector number 2 and a coil assembly 750.00 later I got it back. About a week later it started same thing happened. Took it back and they couldn't find where the problem was. I bought a computer on line and replaced it myself. Took it for a ride and it ran fine for about 3 miles then I got a P0202 injector Cylinder 2 open circuit. They checked it out with a multi-meter and Cylinder 2 reading was erratic moving over 20volts to 4 or 5 volts. I replaced the Injector connector hoping that it was just a bad cable. Nothing. Any help would be helpful. It smokes pretty bad and you can smell gas from time to time.

Get a noid light to connect to the injector connector at #2. Start the engine and see if the light flashes. If so the injector circuit is operating properly (as far as switching the injector on and off is concerned).

If that's good, swap injector # 2 with another one and see if the code now indicates another cylinder. If so, that injector is faulty (though it may be new).

By the way $750 is far too much for changing out an injector.

What did they do to correct the P0203?
