Should I sell my car before or after completing repairs?

I have a 2004 Honda Civic with 100,000 miles, some body damage to the hood from a fender bender about a year and a half ago, and a cracked windshield that I believe my insurance company will cover. I tried to get it inspected this week and learned that it will cost me $560 to get the fuel sensors replaced before it will pass inspection. I am currently paying off a loan on the vehicle. The principle balance is 6,077. I live in NYC and would like to just sell it but I'm not sure if I should have the repairs done before selling or sell it as is. I'm also not sure if I will be able to get the principle balance back or if I'm looking to lose money on the deal. Thanks for your help Brian

This is more a financial question than a technical one, so as technician, I find this one difficult to answer.
I would then calculate the value of the car in its present condition and weigh this against what is owed on the loan. When considering repairs, remember: the better the condition, the higher the value. This is a tough spot to be in - especially in our current financial climate. I wish you luck.
