I have a 2004 honda accord v6 (50000 miles) that has started whining when I first start it. It will continue to do this until it warms up or it has been driven for a while. What's going on? What do I need to do?

ON cold engine, remove belt and start a few seconds, if whine dissapears, then pulley bearing, tensioner.

If whining continues, then most likely a valve train problem.

Most likely a bearing in a tensioner, a 2004 with 50K should not have major problems, having said that, with only 50K it has sat around alot.
