Can I use an after marked catalytic converter

Are after market catalytic converters for 2004 f-150 5.4l 3 valve 4x4 are as good as what comes stock, or from dealer. Names like magnaflow, walker, etc. Seem to be popular. And do you like the idea of using a after market performance chip, throttle body spac need little advice

No. Bosal is the only aftermarket that keeps the light out other than dealer parts. Thats why they are expensive and the aftermarkets are cheap.

We install aftermarkets every day of the week and it is very rare for them to set a code or have a problem after installation. There are a couple of applications that require a larger capacity Cat but those exceptions are rare. Just make sure it is an OBD2 converter.
