Check the engine oil level, and fill it. Usually engine noise and misfiring occur when oil level is low, and variable valve timing is affected. I have seen HFV6 engines come in with noise and rough running that are as much as 4 quarts low on oil. It is advised that if the oil is excessively low, change your actions as far as checking it and not relying on the engine oil monitor. Since these powertrains don't alert when oil level is low, a consumption issue, or leaking can potentially go unnoticed until noise or damage occur.
