I recently brought a vw Polo 1.9 sdi engine. I really like vw's but the only problem is that this engine is very noisy it almost sounds like a bus or truck. I've had older diesel engines before that didn't make this much noise. Is this something I need to worry about?

Its hard to describe its not an unusual noise no juddering or anything similar but just extremely noisy in idle and when increasing speeds. Its not the noise of a regular diesel car engine but sounds more like a bigger vehicle like a bus or truck.

we are thinking to replace the engine as otherwise the car is fine. But dont wanna do that unless it will definately solve the problem.
