My question is regarding a 2003 VW (Diesel). My vehicle was on the highway in winter conditions when it suddenly stalled. I was later told by VW that this was the result of a frozen fuel line. Can a frozen fuel line cause a vehicle to stall while the engine is on?

Diesel will not freeze (except in exceptional cold) it tend to gel up that is it becomes thicker and less fluid, this can cause engines to stop as fuel supply can be restricted, in extreme cold fuel heaters are used and often fuel suppliers will add anti gel agents to bulk fuel over winter.
