Hi,

i've just bought a skoda fabia 1.2 clissic 2003 and i'm finding the fuel usage excessive. When the fuel light came on, on my car and i put £10 in to see how far i would go. However the fuel light came on again after just 47 miles. How can i get the fuel usage back to the 47mpg? also i find that the car judders slightly when the car is idling, could this be part of the fuel problem?

Thanks

Was the vehicle ever tuned up? Have you checked to make sure the air filter isn't plugged? Is there any black smoke from the exhaust?

Hi,

I'm not sure if it was tuned up, but doesn't seem to drive like it has. I was told the filter had been cleaned out but again not sure if it actually was and no smoke coming out of the exhaust.

I would start simple... check the air filter and replace if needed. Also, remove a couple spark plugs and check their condition.
