I was checking to see if my air filter needed changing, and while putting everything back together I noticed my throttle body had some black deposits around the plate. I also noticed an oily residue coming from a small opening that is between the intake hose and the valve. Would these deposits be causing the throttle body to be inefficient and cause shaking while the car is going at highway speeds?

Do you have any codes in the computer? It doesnt make sense with the oily residue causing the shaking while driving.

There is a code in the computer, from what I remember it was the TAC module. I believe it's code p1516, but the thing is the shaking has been going on for quite some time now, way before the code and mechanics can't figure out what's wrong. I've heard everything from bad tire, warped rotors, worn out engine mounts, bad coil, fouled plugs. I'm totally at a loss as to what could be wrong with the car.

If the P1516 code is active on a key cycle you will ony have 10 percent throttle response as a limp mode. There is a big difference between a vibration while driving and issue with a missfire etc. The people looking at the car cant tell which one your car has?Thats the first thing I need to know.
