Changed the rear drums and shoe on the car. Adjusted self-adjuster for initial installment. They do fine for awhile, then they tighten down to far and start grinding and have to be adjusted again. Happening on both sides. Can't get my head around it.

What's grinding? Does that occur just when braking? Check that both parking brake cables are fully released. If they are, you will be able to push the parking brake strut rods at least 1/16 inch against the pressure of the anti-rattle springs. If the cables are sticking, one of the shoes won't contact the anchor pin on top. That will allow extra movement and the self adjuster will adjust up tighter.

Be sure the shorter lining is toward the front of the car and you didn't switch the star wheel adjusters from side to side.
