i recently had the rear axle seals replaced due to a failed inspection and since then the jeep cherokee really struggles to make left hand turns. it almost seems like the wheel is rubbing up against something and makes an awful sound...could it be the rear axle seals? it also idles in a state as if i am pressing on the gas like the engine doesn't want to idle.

As far as the idle, check for vacuum leaks and check the idle air control valve (IAC). Check the tires for evidence of something touching or rubbing them. Also, the axle seals have nothing to do with either of the problems. The only thing I can think of is if they put something together wrong in the differential. The thing is, they shouldn't have taken it apart other than pulling the axles. You may also want to check the front CV joints and u-joints.
