That's what you pay mechanics to figure out. You have to clarify which one does and doesn't work. If one of the three motors tries to move one way but not the other way, it is usually okay and the switch could be bad. If there is no attempt of the motor to work either way, it could be the motor, the wiring to it, or the switch, although the switch would be the least likely suspect.

Hi guys back again. Driver seat motor works all controls except forward. It is all the way back from the nats repair at the shop and now we can't get it to move forward so I can reach the pedals properly. The rest of the position switches work and you can hear the forward clicking but not moving. Just got it back yesterday, for the problem of not starting, which did require another whole switch etc. And it took a week for that little monster! Tell me how to do this so I wont have to go back to the shop Monday. UGH!

Hello,

it sounds like the switch or the motor has gone out, but you should check the seat rails in case something has failing into the seat rail.

Here are the seat wiring diagrams and a guide to show you how to test for power to confirm the switch or motor:

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Well my husband took out all of the seat bolts he could reach and shook the seat and guess what? It works! Crazy, right? Beats all I ever seen as they say here in Tennessee. Question, could covering my car with a reflective cover every day and it sitting in the sun on most days with that cover on have actually "fried" the NATS? Tech that reset everything said the wiring from the ignition to the ECM was fried to the point it would not accept any codes and we had to replace the whole switch! Just by the wings of an angel, my son had sent a switch from a wrecked i35 in CA. Before I surrendered it to the Nissan tech. Price total with labor and switch was $300.00! Now I will have to apply for food stamps just to get by (no joke). That was all I had saved up but if I get hungry I guess i'll have to eat the infiniti! Little salt and pepper ought to fix me right up! Thanks again Stinger46 See what you think about the cover.

It could be the motor is getting weak, keep an eye on it. For the new problem copy and paste. We must keep thread subject specific.

My driver seat has controls to raise and lower seat, recline back of seat, and move seat back and forth. The first two work fine but the latter (the one that moves the seat back and forth) is not working. I have checked the fuses and they are ok. Am I likely to need a new motor?

Hello

I don't have access to a wiring diagram today... Computer down. However, if it were me I would first test the motor to see if it is the motor or the switch. I would first think it is t he switch.

I would figure out which two wires operate that particular motor, the front to rear one I believe you said, and run 12 volts right from the battery to the two wires. Then reverse the wires and see if it goes the other way. If the motor works fine then it is the switch.

The lever that allow you move the seat forward or backwards is not working. The same lever move the seat up and down and the other lever tilts the seat back.

I was thing it to be a fuse, but I don't know were to look. It could be the motor, but why doesn't the seat position work?

Hi Donald Martineau,

There are 2 motors used, one for sliding and the other for the back rest. Both motors uses the same fuse therefore it is not a power supply fault. Most likely the sliding motor is stuck and if you can try to turn the motor slightly and retest, it might work as the motor seldom fails due to it being not used that often.
