I have a 2003 Civic and (long story short) there's a crack under one of the drip rails on the roof. I'm trying to find out how to take that rubber piece out without damaging it. I've lifted the end and it appears to be held down by a metal tab.
(I'm calling it a drip rail because that's what I was told that it's called. But I'm not talking about the part that's right above the door, I'm talking about the strip that runs from the corner of the windshield to the top of the back glass.)
Can you tell me how to get that out and back in without damaging it?
Thanks a lot.

It should be just pushed down in there and you should be able to carefully lifted out. Take a flat blade screwdriver and put underneath it and pry have a little bit at a time

If it doesn't have any kind of screw covers in the rail, then you have to access it by taking the headliner out and go from the inside

Actually, it turns out there is a small metal tab sticking up from the bottom of the groove, and the metal base of the molding has a slot in it for the tab. You lift the molding up a few inches from the tab and slide it off the tab. I found this on a DIY website and it worked perfectly.
Sure glad I didn't pay for your "expert advice."
