Hi I have a 03 FORD EXPEDITION, EDDIE BAUER , the message center on the instrument cluster does not work at all, was told by the dealership that I need a new one, so I bought a perfectly working instrument cluster that came off a 03 expedition Eddie Bauer so my question is if I install the working instrument cluster myself and than drive the truck to the dealership to get the cluster programmed, will it mess up the truck?? the dealership charges me 3something to installed it and programmed it. and 108 just to program the cluster.... So I just want to get it programmed but not sure if it will be safe to drive the truck with the new cluster before getting it programmed. thanks..

I don't see how it would unless something is wired incorrectly or shorted.
