We left the radio on while working on vehicle for about 2 hours, and the battery died. So we jumped it off but it started stalling while driving, so we assumed it just didn't have enough charge. Let it slow charge over night. Next morning, it started but would still stall while driving so we had battery checked and it was a bad battery, replaced it with new one, but now it is idling extremely low and will stall as soon as your footis off the peddle. What can we do to fix this? Thanks!

Often times, if the battery goes completely dead, the computer / sensors have to go through a relearn process. How many miles have you put on it since this happened? Also, has the check engine light come on?

We have only had this vehicle for a couple of days, and after the battery died and we charged it up, we only drove it far enough to take to an AutoZone to check the battery so maybe 20 miles total. There has been no light come on at all.

It could take a combination of highway and in town driving to relearn. However, the engine idle is controlled by the idle air control valve (IAC). The IAC is located on the throttle body. You could check to see if it is getting power and working to see if that is the issue. Also, make sure that no vacuum hoses were disconnected when the vehicle was being repaired.

So it's safe to drive it even with it stalling while going down the road? This is going to help fix the problem of it cutting off instead of making it worse?

Is it stalling at idle or while you are traveling? If it is at idle only, just be aware of the issue and see if it relearns within about 50 miles. Be careful and aware of what is happening. If it is shutting down while you are driving and not just at an idle, there is a different problem.

It's doing both. And when it shuts down while driving, the steering and brakes go out also. We had none of these issues at all until the battery died.
