My passat has a green light of a foot on the mph meter area on the dash above the steering wheel what does it mean?

That's the reminder to push the brake pedal before changing gears (automatic).

It should go out once the brake pedal is pushed and stay out once in gear.

If your car is not an automatic... ignore above.

I can look up more info when I get home after work if need be.
