Could my engine have locked up?

Had an oil leak due to busted pan, left the vehicle at house due to traveling. Came home 3 days later and drove the vehicle just under a mile to the mechanic's shop but the vehicle cut off on the way to the shop. It sounds like it wants to turn but wont start. Tried it twice then left it alone in fear of locking up. Does this mean the engine locked up?

If the engine is locked up, it will not turn when you try starting it. If it is turning (but not starting), it isn't locked.

Thanks Jacobandnickolas, I was able to move the vehicle into a parking lot so the steering wheel would turn. I am guessing it has something to do with lack of oil and something technical in the car itself. Maybe a "sensor shut off" due to lack of oil. Will keep you posted.

That is very possible. I believe there is a shut down if the oil pressure drops. Is everything okay?
